Read from each vendor’s pricing page on October 24, 2026. Peec AI’s pricing page draws its prices in the browser, so we couldn’t read a figure from it; Peec’s own Peec vs Profound page lists Starter at €89/month. This category changes fast. Check each vendor’s page before you decide, and tell us if a row is out of date.
They all do the same core thing: ask AI assistants questions a buyer would ask, record which brands each answer names, and chart it over time. Most add sentiment, the sources an answer cited, a share-of-voice figure against competitors, and suggestions for what to change. The differences are in what it costs to start, which assistants are covered, how often the questions run, and how much of the evidence you can see.
Profound, Peec AI, Otterly.AI and AthenaHQ track Google’s AI Overviews and Microsoft Copilot, which are search surfaces rather than chat models. Mentioned doesn’t. It asks the models directly, through their APIs: Claude and Gemini on our keys, and ChatGPT, DeepSeek, Llama 3.3 and Perplexity on yours. If AI Overviews are where your buyers see you, pick a tool that reads them.
“50 prompts” and “20 tracked queries” are not the same amount. Most tools count a prompt as one question asked on each engine. Mentioned counts a tracked query as one brand and category with five buyer questions, so 20 tracked queries is 100 questions per run. Work out questions asked per month (questions × engines × runs) before you compare prices.
Profound now sells its brand plans through a demo, with a free trial of 50 prompts for 7 days. Peec AI and Otterly.AI offer free trials of self-serve plans. Semrush says its toolkit has no free trial. Mentioned and AthenaHQ have a free option that doesn’t expire. For a team that needs to show a number before it gets budget, that matters.
Somebody will ask “says who?”. Look for the full answer behind every figure, questions that stay the same from run to run so a trend means something, and a clear list of what to fix with the evidence attached. Every tool here shows some of this; check how much in a trial. In Mentioned, every number links to the stored answers it was counted from, and Actions ranks what to fix first by the answers at stake.
Of the seven here, Mentioned and AthenaHQ publish a free option that isn’t time-limited. Mentioned’s free account tracks 5 queries weekly on Claude and Gemini; AthenaHQ’s gives a one-off credit of 300 AI responses. Profound, Peec AI and Otterly.AI offer free trials. Semrush says its AI Visibility Toolkit has no free trial.
On published pages, Peec AI’s Enterprise plan lists up to 13 models and AthenaHQ’s Starter lists 11 platforms. Profound’s Enterprise plan lists up to 9 answer engines. Self-serve plans usually cover fewer, and several sell extra engines as add-ons.
Most tools count prompts: one question, asked on each engine you track. Mentioned counts tracked queries: one brand and category with five locked buyer questions, asked on each model on every run. So 20 tracked queries is 100 questions. Compare on questions asked per month, not on the label.
Profound, Peec AI, Otterly.AI and AthenaHQ list Google AI Overviews, and Semrush lists Google AI Mode. Mentioned doesn’t: it asks the models directly through their APIs and doesn’t read Google’s search results pages.
